Cheerful Weather for the Wedding
Status: IN STOCK
England, 1932. Today is Dolly Thatchum’s (Felicity Jones, Like Crazy, Chalet Girl) wedding day, and her family is arriving at the manor house with all the cheerfulness, chaos and grievances that accompany such gatherings. Trouble soon appears in the shape of Joseph (Luke Treadaway, Attack the Block, Public Sex), Dolly’s lover from the previous summer, who throws her feelings into turmoil. But Dolly’s mother (Elizabeth McGovern, Downton Abbey, Clash of the Titans) will not allow her carefully laid plans for her daughter’s future to be threatened. As the clock ticks and the guests grow more and more restless, the bride-to-be must decide whether to run away with Joseph or settle into the humdrum security of married life. Featuring a colorful cast of characters, CHEERFUL WEATHER FOR THE WEDDING is an astute comedy about the eccentricities of family and the solidarity of true love.
